Termites hate us
There are nearly 3,000 species of termites in the world (that we know of). And they all hate us. Because we don’t feed them.
Termites like to eat cellulose.
Cellulose is the main ingredient in wood.
Wood is the main ingredient in U.S. homes.
Not in Momo homes, however. We frame our homes in cold-formed steel because, unlike wood-framed houses, steel won’t warp, split, crack, burn, or melt. Our precise manufacturing process means we can create wall sections that are accurate to within 1 millimeter for every 12-foot section. And steel frames fit exactly onto our foundations, which saves builders time (and you money).
While cold-formed steel is well-established in commercial construction and is the framing material of choice in Australian and New Zealand homebuilding, it’s only now coming to prominence in the U.S. We’re delighted to speed the process along.
Just an FYI, termites.
(For the record: Whatever termites might think of us, we have nothing against them — despite their evolutionary kinship with cockroaches. Termites play a key ecological role in composting wood to support new growth, so they definitely have their place. Just not in our homes.)
